Mamiwata Film is looking for volunteers in a city near you

With the summer around the corner,  Mamiwata Film is looking for volunteers who can join our film team all over the country.  They will essentially help spreading the word by organizing various activities and parties across the country, all summer long. We believe that this could be a great and fun opportunity for all the students who choose to spend their summer learning about filmmaking and energizing their community.  Please check out our call for volunteers page for more details.

If you have questions and  want to get involved or know someone who might want to, please drop us a line at or simply fill in this form .

Mamiwata Film is an upcoming paranormal horror based on true events.   The movie’s about an American professor and his four students,  who travel to the heart of the African jungle in search of Iboga, a potential cure for drug addiction. In the process they unwittingly unleash the wrath of Mamiwata, the African Mermaid who guards the sacred shrub.

The script was written by Chris Ferrantino.  It will be directed by Danielle Fisher and Jordan Best. Guiding the creative team is none other than Dan Myrick, who once wrote and directed the Blair Witch Project.  The movie has just entered the pre-production stage,  filming is scheduled to begin in late spring.

You can find more about the movie at  and on our facebook page

Looking for a Casting PA to help with auditions this weekend!

I’m casting for the first episode in a series of short films and I could use some help with the auditions! I’m looking for someone to help out with bringing actors into the room, possibly reading along with them and maybe even helping to operate the camera. The casting will take place this weekend, Sat 5/17 (10:30am-2:30pm) & Sun 5/18 (1pm-5pm).

I’ll also be looking for crew (AC/Cam Op, Gaffer, Wardrobe/MakeUp, and PA’s) for the shoot which will be on the weekend towards the end of May and/or the first weekend of June… so if you are interested in one of these positions maybe helping out with the casting would be a great way to meet!

Unfortunately (yes, here it comes) I can’t pay for a Casting PA, but I’ll get you some lunch or dinner afterwards!

If you want more info about the film, check out the casting call here:

If you’re interested, send an email to with your info! Thanks!
